August 19, 2009: The catalog for the auction of the Beverly Sills estate on Oct. 7 by the Doyle New York company has been delayed from its previously announced mid-July publication date. According to Louis Webre, Doyle's Senior Vice President for Marketing and Media, there have been some additions to the sale, and the catalogue will now be available in early September -- printed and Internet versions. He also notes that the catalog will have a biography, special pages with memories of Beverly Sills provided by select friends (Carol Burnett, Barbara Walters etc.), photographs of her in various iconic roles, and photographs of her home at the Beresford on Central Park. Almost all the auction items will be illustrated in the catalog. The exhibition of auction the items will be open to the public from Friday, October 2 through Tuesday, October 6 at Doyle New York. July: Loyal fans pays tribute to Sills on the second anniversary of her death at the Walk of Fame Star.


June: On Wednesday, October 7 at 10am (Eastern Standard Time), Doyle New York will auction the Estate of Beverly Sills, the beloved American soprano. Doyle has been chosen by Ms. Sills' family to host this historic sale. The exhibition will be open to the public from Friday, October 2 through Tuesday, October 6 at Doyle New York. The auction catalogue is currently being finalized, which will be available in mid-July, both in a printed souvenir version and a free Internet Version

June: July 2nd, 2009, marks the second anniversary of Beverly Sills's passing. Several of her devoted fans will be gathering at her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame between 1-3 p.m. for an informal, unscripted gathering. Beverly Sills's star is located at 1750 Vine St., Hollywood CA.

May: Deutsche Grammophon has announced that it is issuing the Sills studio recording of Bellini's Norma on July 1, 2009. This had been the only remaining Sills complete studio opera recording yet to be released on CD. The details are available at the DG website

June. 3 - Yet another clip of Lehár's "Vilja" in 1973.

May. 22 - Sills sings Bellini's "Son vergin vezzosa" from I Puritani and "Mother Dear" a popular folk song
