Oct. 28, 2005 Beverly Sills, will be the host for the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra benefit concert. Audra McDonald and Randy Newman, along with the players of the New York Philharmonic and its music director, Lorin Maazel, at Avery Fisher Hall Oct. 26, 2005 The Metropolitan Opera has established a new award named for Beverly Sills. The $50,000 Beverly Sills Artist Award will be given annually, starting in 2006, to an American singer between the ages of 25 and 40 who has appeared as a soloist with the Met, to help support the singer's career.
