Beverly Sills in Concert Recording Review

Opera News, June, 1972, p. 34 by John W. Freeman
This virtuoso romp in four languages is Miss Sills’s happiest disc to date. The repertory is off the beaten path and features obbligatos by clarinet or flute, violin or cello, the longest selection being Schubert’s “Hirt auf dem Felsen,” full of sunshine and joy and vitality. The Arne, Bishop and Handel arias, in addition to their historical curiosity, have Miss Sills’s bright performance to commend them, and the recorded sound is the best she has yet received on commercial discs.
